Kai Mārō’s commitment to community betterment shines through in the mahi we do, and was especially evident during our recent participation in the Whakaoho Te Tauira symposium at Pukeatua Kōhanga Reo.

We were privileged to attend, and our executive director, Tūrei Ormsby, delivered a compelling keynote address titled ‘Te Ao Māori - The Catalyst for Success.’ His speech not only shared his personal journey of success but also underscored the significance of indigenous education.

Reflecting on the symposium, Tūrei enthusiastically shared, “The event showcased brilliant minds from various fields, all driven by a shared goal: nurturing success in our tamariki (children) by empowering educators and leaders. I’m confident this symposium will be a game-changer, shaping the future success of our tamariki in Te Awakairangi and the Wainuiomata surroundings.”

As Kai Mārō continues to champion community-driven initiatives, the symposium experience has reinforced our dedication to uplifting educational standards. Moving forward, we are excited to implement insights gained from this event, fostering an environment where the principles of Te Ao Māori are integrated seamlessly into our practices. Together with our community partners, we aim to nurture the potential of every tamariki, ensuring a legacy of success that resonates throughout Te Awakairangi and the Wainuiomata region.
